MY BUSINESS JOURNEY – MONTH 5

Wow! Month 5 already and it is getting closer to Christmas and tax season. It should be interesting filing my first calendar years taxes and reporting all expenses without reporting any revenue. This month I thought would be the month that I would be finally starting to manufacture my product but that part had been delayed. My supplier had been working on a new product mold design that took longer than expected during the testing phase. The good news is that is all sorted now and he was finally able to ship to me my sample products which I received today and they work, look and feel great. The next step that needs to happen is I have been in contact with a local label making company to print out a few labels that I will be applying onto the sample products.

My supplier was not able to find a company that would print less than 1,000 labels. So I had to find a local one which is able to do the highest quality laser print I can get and will be making me 4 labels over the next couple of days. After I receive the labels I will be able to apply them to my sample products and get in contact with a professional photographer to get the product photos made for the website and for Amazon. After which I will at the same time be reaching out to AD agency companies to get a 20-30 second advertisement made for the product.

So what was I able to accomplish during the month of November?

  • Professional Business Voicemail Recording – Fiver ($50)
  • Sample products shipped to me ($30)
  • 100% finished the website
  • 100% fixed all the contact, email & newsletter section of the website

At the same time during my downtime while I finished all of the above within the first 2 weeks of the month. I had found a labeling company, short listed a few ad agency’s and professional product photography companies. I am now all set and ready to go now once the sample products are labeled. At this point in time I am looking to begin the manufacturing of the product in January after both of the things above are complete.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone and see you in the new year!
