Amazon Merch Guide: The Ultimate Side Hustle – Part 5

Merch by Amazon Designs Resources

In order to benefit from all your research and new product ideas you’ll need to know how to create a design, or have a designer that can do it for you. I’m not going to teach you how to create a design or how to use Photoshop, Illustrator, or GIMP in this post as that’s a lengthy process and there’s an unlimited amount of free resources that you can find on YouTube and Google, but I will explain a few things and show you a few valuable resources to get you pointed in the right direction.

Understanding Vector Files & Fonts

Vector files are images that can be scaled to any resolutions without losing quality. They are ideal for creating quick high-quality designs on Merch by Amazon. You can use these files to spice up your text based designs (or any design really) with an image quickly and easily.

Let’s assume you found a good design idea for St. Patrick’s Day, and you needed a nice Font (typeface) and a Clover or a Top Hat graphic. You could go to one of the vector websites below, run a “St. Patrick’s Day” search, find a vector file that has a top hat and a clover, check the licensing rights (if okay to use commercially), download it, and use the different graphical elements on your design.

Free Vector File Resources

In order to open AI files (vector files), you’ll need Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator. If you don’t have Photoshop or Illustrator you can install GIMP and Inkscape, open the vector file in Inkscape first and then Import it into GIMP. It’s free this way and should save you some money.

This sums up using vector files in your designs. If you need to know more I recommend that you search YouTube and Google for design tutorials. If you apply a few small tutorials per day consistently you’ll learn enough about design to create designs that will sell in no time!

You can find a huge list of free fonts (typefaces) that you can install and use. Again, make sure you check the licensing rights / copyrights before freely using these fonts on your designs.

    Hello ,

I saw your tweets and thought I will check your website. Have to say it looks very good!
I’m also interested in this topic and have recently started my journey as young entrepreneur.

I’m also looking for the ways on how to promote my website. I have tried AdSense and Facebok Ads, however it is getting very expensive. Was thinking about starting using analytics. Do you recommend it?
Can you recommend something what works best for you?

I also want to improve SEO of my website. Would appreciate, if you can have a quick look at my website and give me an advice what I should improve:
(Recently I have added a new page about FutureNet and the way how users can make money on this social networking portal.)

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Hope to hear from you soon.

Maybe I will add link to your website on my website and you will add link to my website on your website? It will improve SEO of our websites, right? What do you think?
